Swimmer Spotlight: Katie Ledecky
American swimmer, Katie Ledecky, age 26, has five Olympic gold medals, the most for a female swimmer in history! She also has been awarded 15 other gold medals for various swimming championships.
Her favorite stroke is free-style and holds the world record for the 400m, 800m and 1,500m events!
Her total medal count is 34, including 28 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze from events such as the summer Olympics, The World Championships, and the Pan Pacific Championships.
A recent graduate of Stanford University, Katie is passionate about the importance of education, especially STEM and leadership programs for girls.
